Braces | Week #78 Yes I still have those

I've had braces for one year and 7 months now.

At the time, the doctor said that I would need to wear it for "more than one year, less than two". Well, I'm ready to take them off! OK, not really. I am sick of having braces, but this doesn't look nearly done.

My doctor keeps messing around my teeth's position. She makes them move around, she makes them shift and I get gaps between my teeth. Huge gaps. Like I'm missing a tooth. Yeah, it's crazy weird.

I've had all different types of appliances on my braces now. I've had elastics to connect top and bottom jaws, chain-elastics, and I've had a spring between two brackets! Oh yeah, that was fun -- it was painful AF! Honestly, I didn't knew that this was going to be such a hassle! Having food stuck on my braces all the time is not fun at all! Oh and you know what else is not fun? Having stained elastics! Oh yeah. I always ask for elastics with bright, bold colors. But last month I wanted pink and they only had baby pink. Worst decision ever. After a week my elastics were all yellow-ish because of all the coffee I drink. Disgusting. Never happening again.

-- I've restrained my self from doing this type of posts, because usually they're not very popular. However I like to keep a record of what is going on. And btw, if you have any question about my braces experience, you can leave them in the comments. --

Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone // Cine-Concert

Last Saturday was the Harry potter And the Philosopher's Stone cine-concert, and of course I had to go. I got this tickets two months ago, and I'd been super excited ever since!

It was at Meo Arena, an huge -- HUGE -- concert venue. On the stage there was an orchestra -- a fairly big one! Honestly I thought that the orchestra would be smaller -- and on top of the stage there was a screen, an enormous screen playing the movie. And the Orchestra was playing the soundtrack along with the movie.

We got there late, because I'm always late for everything. The tickets I got didn't have assigned sits, there were just for Balcony 2 which is the furthest away from the stage as you be. Since we ware so late, when we arrived the lights were all off and the movie was already in the Zoo Scene. So we ended up just sitting in the stare case, and we saw the fist half of the movie from there. An the intermission, when the lights turned on, we were windblown -- this huge arena, was full, I mean completely full. There were no open sits, in fact there were a lot of people just  much like us, watching the movie sitting in the stairs!

It was really cool. I like it. I honestly paid more attention to the musicians than to the movie it's self. I paid much more attention to the music. Much more than I've ever paid before! There were parts of the movie that I didn't even remember having such awesome music going on! The orchestra was playing louder than the movie and you could tell that some sounds of the movie were removed so that the music being played could be more clear. At the end, while the credits were rolling, the orchestra played a bit more, and everyone had their phones out with the lights on, waving around to the sound of the music, it was really cool.

I though that it was going to be mainly people from my generation, because we were the ones who grew up with Harry Potter, but no. There were a lot of kids, young kids. And there were a lot of people wearing t-shirts and even fully dressed up as Hogwarts Students -- with robes, and wands!. It was cool, and magical. I only wish I had better seats.

EAT | Butchers, Lisbon

This restaurant was on my list for some time now... I read about how great it was and how tasty their aged beef was, and I was extremely curious to try it out. Oh, and that's not a typo, they serve aged beef. Beef aging basically means waiting a couple of weeks between the time that the piece of meat was extracted from the animal and the actually cooking of that meet. It's allowing the meat to start-- kind of -- rotting up, but in a controlled manner. Sounds gross, right? But, oh, it's worth it! This process makes the meat extremely tender, and allows for the concentration and saturation of the natural flavors of the meat! Makes the meat so tender, it melts in your mouth.

This restaurant is located in Parque das Nações, on an area that is almost exclusively offices. In fact, it is place on the ground floor of a huge office building.

We went on a Saturday evening, around 20.30 pm. The restaurant wasn't full. I was expecting it to be packed, but no -- strange, hum? -- We had no reservation and we didn’t have to wait for a table.

The restaurant has a really nice ambiance. It's a large, open dining room, modern, fancy and romantic. The lights are deemed, the tables are far apart just enough for you to feel like you have some privacy. I asked for the Butcher's Stake and the boyfriend had the maminha. The meat is served over a very rustic-looking wood cutting board. Both dishes came with some delicious sweet-potatoes fries and a green-salad. We also asked for garlic bread, but that never arrived to our table! The wine menu was huge, complex actually and full of expensive wines that we'd never heard of. Both our dishes were extremely flavorful. Both were at perfect temperature, tender and super juicy. For desert we had the Butcher's trio. Nothing to rave about.

I know we were there for the meat. And yep, that was great. But overall I felt like it is truly an overpriced restaurant. I felt like they even had too many waiters, some of them were just walking around. I'm all about good costumer service, but that many waiters was just absurd. And I was really unimpressed about that garlic bread situation: asking for something that never arrived to the table and that is even charged on the bill is unacceptable for a restaurant like that.

Review | LUSH Aromaco Deodorizing Bar

Well... here's something I never thought I would try -- Natural deodorant. I've always had some concerns about this sort of product, although I love natural products! But I've always wondered it it would actually work! If there's something that I hate is that smell of perspiration that we all get sometimes. But the last time I went to Lush, the sales girl encouraged me to give it a try and I bought a little piece of the Aromaco Deodorizing Bar. It almost looks like a soap, but it's in fact a deodorant that you rub on your armpits much like you would with a roll-on thingy. The bar itself, has a strange smell  -- I think it's the patchouli oil! -- that I'm not very kin on, but it doesn't really leave any smell on me, when I apply it. The bar is made of wax, and it doesn't really feel like a traditional deodorant. As I said, you rub it on the same way, but rather than it transferring a cream-like product to your skin, it kinda coats it with a sheer layer of oils.

Surprisingly, I'm really enjoying this product. It holds up to all my daily activities and not once did I ever felt or smelled bad. In fact, I felt that it holds up as good as any commercial deodorant I've used in the past. And one huge advantage is this doesn't really transfer to my cloths. Usually I get some deodorant stains on my shirts, just because I'm always in a hurry and I'm all clumsy and I touch with my roll-on on my shirt, and bam, there is a stain. Yeah, with this, that doesn't really happen.

However, the lack of smell feels kinda of weird to me. I like products that have a clean, fresh smells. And the weird smell of this bar doesn't really help. I'm not sure I'm going to buy this again. For now, I'll finish this one, because I don't like to be wasteful, but at the end I think I'll go back to my favorite regular roll-on deodorant.

My Life | Office View

I love the place where I work. I love my office. It is located on an awesome part of the city, it has an awesome view over the Tagus River. It's an amazing, creative, inspiring place to work. We don't have a fixed desk, we can sit wherever we want. We have free unlimited candy, apples, coca-cola (regular and zero!) and Nespresso Coffee. We have an huge lounge room, with massive fridges, and 20 microwaves, all ready for us to bring our own food from home, heat it up and eat it. We have dishes, and cutlery, and glasses and trays for us to use. And we have some ladies that wash all that! And on the tables? We have pepper and salt and expensive olive oil!

Everything is high-tech. The meeting rooms, all have Smart-TV's, for Skype meetings or presentations... or simply to work on a big screen. The bathrooms have automatic soap disperses, automatic paper towel dispensers. The toilets even have a plastic covering the toilet sit, that changes when you enter the stall. We even have a hand-cream dispenser in the ladies bathroom! But still, I feel like there are some basic things that are missing. Elevators, there are 4. But somehow, in the morning there is 10 min line for the elevator. No kidding. Because, apparently, they are not programmed properly -- ironic uhm?

Oh and those automatic paper-towels dispenser... they are placed way too far away from the sinks -- which means that we have to walk with our hands wet and of curse wet the whole floor.
And you know what I think is really missing? A little machine that dispenses (or sells) tampons, pads, toothpaste, floss! That would be so useful!

These big companies are all about the show-off. The image that we pass to our clients is everything. We spend so much time looking for solutions for our client's problems, and we don't even see our own.

That moment when you hop on Lush, really fast, just to buy one shampoo bar, and you end-up leaving with a full back of stuff. And they didn't even had the shampoo bar I want on stock!

INBOX | NOVEX Tentação Acida

Whenever I receive a package from Embelleze Portugal I get excited! I know that inside are some great goodies! And I wasn't wrong! This time they sent me this NOVEX TENTAÇÃO ACIDA kit!
I've actually got this in the mail a while back but I haven't had the opportunity to tell you all about it!

It's a conditioner. And it's a very interesting product since it can be used in 3 different ways: as a pré-shampoo conditioner (add it to your dry hair, let it act for 5 minutes and then proceed with normal washing), as a regular conditioner or as a leave-in conditioner. I've used it in the 3 different ways, and the results are always de same -- soft, silky and shinny hair! I like the smell. It has a very fresh, floral smell, perfect for spring! And what I really like is the convenience of the spray bottle! I'm the type of girl that like simple, easy to apply products, and the fact that this comes in spray bottle and that I can just spray it all over my hair really quickly is an huge advantage!
